1. SCP-001: Overview
All right, starting with SCP-001. This one needs an overview first because there are multiple proposals under the same number.
If you open the main 001 page, you get a warning about classified files and a supposed memetic kill agent. That's part of the fiction. After the warning, there's a list of proposals from different writers, each with its own title and link.
The explanation inside the story is that the Foundation may have mixed false files in with the real ones to hide what SCP-001 actually is. The notice even leaves open whether there's one true file or several.
Outside the story, SCP is a collaborative writing project. Different articles can follow different versions of the Foundation, so there's no requirement to make every 001 proposal fit together. There isn't one answer that automatically overrides all the others.
Some names you'll see on the list are Dr. Clef's The Gate Guardian, S. Andrew Swann's The Database, and S. D. Locke's When Day Breaks. Those are separate proposals. They need their own breakdowns rather than getting compressed into a sentence here.
So here's how I'm covering it: this post is the general overview, then each proposal gets its own connected reply chain underneath. Each breakdown will cover what that version of 001 is, how the Foundation handles it, and the events in its file. Spoilers will be marked.
There's no single object class or containment procedure for the whole 001 page. Those details depend on which proposal we're reading.
