1/11 • Acts of Paul and Thecla Thecla hears Paul teach, refuses the marriage expected of her, and survives attempts to execute her. This Greek Christian story probably took shape in the later second century CE. Its questions about faith, family obligations, and a woman's authority to teach give it plenty to discuss. Spirit Nation has Alexander Walker's 1870 translation of the standalone narrative, including an alternative ending. Thecla's story also belongs to the larger Acts of Paul tradition. https://t.co/3aswuyToKv
