1/11 · Apocalypse of Abraham
The Apocalypse of Abraham begins with a young man questioning the idols in his father’s workshop. It then carries him into a heavenly vision with the angel Yahoel. Usually dated to the late first or early second century CE, this Jewish work explores worship, evil, and the fate of Abraham’s descendants. Its movement from broken household idols to the heavens makes a striking opening. Read the Box and Landsman edition, published in 1918, on Spirit Nation.
