There was a race in the game where you go to see Zora after Newhof is destroyed. You have to win the race in order to not only unlock an achievement but to be able to get the contract secured between her and Sir Divish. Otherwise they'll basically go out of business. I got really annoyed with that race because the horse that I have is a hell of a lot better than the one that they give you. I tried three or four times and that includes taking shortcuts through the country. After my second try I got really really close but my horse got hung up on a rock at the very last, literally 10 feet. I lost at the end. I started getting annoyed and I started looking up ways to get through it faster because I don't really like races as much. I found two ways to get through this quest, two ways to get around doing it: 1. You bring both horses to the starting area and then you start on the original horse. You hop off Zora's horse, hop on yours, do the whole race, and then just hop back on the original horse at the end. That works fine but I still would have to do the race an entire time. 2. I started playing around with the mechanics and what I ended up doing is I took my sword and jabbed all of the horses. I went there a couple of hours before the race, poked all of the horses with my sword, and the horses and riders all went running off screaming. Obviously I had to deal with the guard so either you have to pay off the guard or you have to use one of the options to get out of getting in trouble. I did that and it works out pretty well because you scare off the horses. You deal with the guard, then you just get on your horse, drive up there, and wait until noon. It completes the quest without you even having to do the race and you get the contract. I hated doing it that way but I got annoyed with it after a while so that's how I dealt with it. Correction. No the quest failed then. Trying the other way.
