I've retired Snap Finder from my Labs and open sourced it. I didn't think the market opportunity justified the time I'd need to keep putting into it as a product. Instead of keeping the code private, I've released it for people who want to run their own version or build on what's there. Snap Finder is a self-hosted Snapchat discovery directory. It has categories, profile listings, saved profiles, reporting, and administrator moderation. There are account export and deletion controls too. The idea is straightforward: give people a directory where they can find profiles through categories, with tools for the person running it to manage the listings and deal with reports. For someone who wants a discovery site around a particular community or set of interests, that's the foundation that's available here. You can adapt the categories and interface to the kind of directory you want to run, or look through the code to see how the account, listing, and moderation pieces fit together. Saved profiles let people keep track of listings they want to revisit. Reporting gives them a way to flag problems, and the administrator tools let the operator manage those reports and listings. Those are useful parts to have together if you're building a directory that people can contribute to. It's built with PHP, Laravel, SQLite, and JavaScript, with installation and deployment instructions in the repository. It's an independent project and isn't affiliated with Snap Inc. I've marked Snap Finder Gold at v1.1.1. I consider the released version complete for what I built it to do. It's available as-is, and future maintenance or new features are optional. That's where I'm leaving this lab. The source is available for anyone who has a use for it and wants to take it further. Project page: https://t.co/q0LBDXhXqe Source: https://t.co/ZbqGln6hRJ
