All right I saw some people posting on X complaining about the dot not having enough proactivity. This is what I'm doing and it seems to have fixed my issue. I created what I call a proactivity index. It has a flag. I store all my notes in Evernote and I have it connect through that so it's where it pulls all my context and stuff on a lot of things. For example I have it starting with a 0 or 1, 1 for it, the system being active: 0 for not. As they update the dot over time, I want to sometimes explore what the base proactivity would look like so I'm rating it. Each topic is being rated on two numbers. Both are 1 through 10: - Exploration: 1 through 10 on how much attention the topic gets. - Outreach: 1 through 10 on how readily the dot brings me information about it. It'll be what kind of advice I welcome and any boundaries and things like that. It'll also keep track of the last time something was mentioned, what was last mentioned, and my response to it. Right now I have multiple categories: - Personal commitments and relationships - Business and clients - Existing labs and new product ideas, because I got my serial entrepreneur ecosystem that I'm building out - Writing and story ideas, because I'm a writer. I'm very anal about my creative writing. I'll never have it write anything for me when it comes to my creative writing but I like exploring and brainstorming ideas and stuff. If it's going through my manuscripts and it sees misspellings and things proactively and lets me know about them, that would be great. - Games that I'm playing or game development ideas - Comics or reading-related stuff with comics - Tools, plugins, workflow - Faith and theological studies I'm rating each one on those two topics. What it'll do is, how it all kind of works: I'm going to try this out for a few days and see if it's better than what I was originally thinking. I have a feeling it will. I've had it working on one very big task for me proactively already. That was this series of notes that I've been trying to finish and it's legitimately taken 2 days now. It's worked overnight for 2 nights and a full 2 days. It's pretty much been working on it since launch and it's still going. Right last I checked there were still a couple hundred records left. Once that's done I'll be able to better test out what the proactivity looks like because I've been keeping it busy with that. Curious to see how it goes.
