I've been really busy over the last few days so I haven't been posting as much. I'm just posting some catch-up posts to explain what I've been up to the last few days.
First of all I beat Wolverine and I played quite a bit after that as well. The initial game was great. I love the gameplay and I love the mechanics. I know that the gaming community has kind of been torn on this game because of various reasons. There have been some complaints here and there and counterarguments. I believe that some of the complaints are valid but I believe a lot of them are just either fabricated or just complaining for the sake of complaining.
One of the issues people were talking about was the senses: when you're doing the smelling senses it looks like a big blue fart cloud. They patched it earlier yesterday and that fixed that issue so that's no longer even an issue. They've already fixed most of the bugs in the game. I know various people have run into various bugs. I beat the game from start to finish and I played quite a bit afterwards, trying to collect the whiskey bottles and trying to unlock more of the memories.
I've done three of the gauntlets all the way to Adamantium and I got the new one unlocked and did that one out to Enimanium. I've still got a few left to do. So far with all the hours I put into the game, I've only found one bug one time. I jumped off of something and I landed on a tree and I sliced my way down the tree. At the bottom he got stuck, hung for a minute, and he ended up kind of bouncing up and down for a few minutes before he jumped off. That was the only glitch or bug that I've noticed in the entire game since I've started playing it.
I've seen videos of other people showing glitches on the motorcycle with him standing on top of it, and I'm not denying that those are probably the case but I think the bugs in the game are kind of few and far between at this point. It's pretty stable from what I've experienced. I'm going to assume that most people will complete a full playthrough without running into a bunch of glitches or bugs. I'm not saying there won't be the occasional glitch or the occasional issue but for the most part I had a pretty smooth experience.
If I had any valid complaint about the game, it would be that they do need more combos. Right now you do have your skills and then you have your Helix powers and I'm not complaining about any of that but the initial combat itself really only has one solid combo. It's where you do the soft strike three times and follow up with the big one. They've got some other combos but that's the only real solid one. I would like to see them throw in another five or six combos in there. It would help a lot. It would actually improve the gameplay mechanics a lot and that would be another huge complaint that some of the people have been complaining about.
Besides that I'm going to stand behind the game and I'm going to say it's an amazing game. I'm an old-school Wolverine fan. I've been reading the comics. I've pretty much started in 1962. That's not when I started reading, obviously, because I'm not that old. When I first got into comics again I started reading chronological X-Men from the 1960s until now and I just recently got to around the '90s. I know most of the history anyway but I'm just giving it a solid read.
I'm an old-school Wolverine fan. I know almost everything about him in the comics and most of the existing movies and shows in the universe that he's played in. As a Wolverine fan, a comic fan, a Marvel fan, and also as a pretty solid gamer (I've been playing games for several decades), I'm going to stand behind the game and say it's a solid gameplay experience. I loved it from start to finish. Maybe it's not my favorite game of all time but it's amazing. Very rarely, when I beat a game, do I go back to it. Normally I move on to something else, not always but most of the time. This one I found myself, two days after beating it, still working on
