I'm working on another open source project. I'm going to roll it out here in a few hours. It's going to be a simple one to start with but I needed to edit a PDF and it was for someone who didn't want their information inside of ChatGPT, which I don't mind. Normally I would load the shit in ChatGPT and run it that way but they didn't want their name and stuff in there, so it was a long PDF with a bunch of stuff. I couldn't find anything open source or free. Everything wants to charge you up the ass to do a really decent edit so I was like, "screw it", I sat down and built out my own open source PDF editor. It's about 33 MB at the moment. It has the ability to: - white out - drag and drop - white out sections - add text - highlight - rotate - reorder - delete - merge pages - undo - redo - save edited copies while preserving the original It's going to be free, offline, and MIT-licensed. I'm going to add quite a bit more features into it and then when I'm done I'm going to release it here in a couple of hours or tomorrow. I did look. There's not a whole lot of free PDF editors out there that are halfway decent. Most of them will try to get you to download them and then they'll want to charge you an arm and a leg. I figured that would be another great idea for a new open source project to add to my existing catalog.
