Game Series I’ve Beaten: A Deep Dive – Yakuza

Yakuza is one of those series I never expected to love as much as I do, but once I got into it, I was hooked. It’s got everything—an incredible story, deep characters, over-the-top combat, and some of the best side content in any game. Kiryu Kazuma is easily one of my favorite protagonists ever. The way his story unfolds across the games is just masterful. And then you’ve got Majima, the perfect chaotic counterbalance to Kiryu.

The thing about Yakuza is that it’s not just an open-world beat-em-up—it’s a world-building masterclass. Kamurocho feels alive. Every street has something going on, whether it’s a bizarre side mission, a hidden mini-game, or just random thugs trying to start a fight. And then there’s the business management, cabaret clubs, real estate minigames—so much depth in what seems like a straightforward brawler on the surface.

Here’s the list of Yakuza games I’ve beaten:

  • Yakuza 0
  • Yakuza Kiwami
  • Yakuza Kiwami 2
  • Yakuza 3 (Remastered)
  • Yakuza 4 (Remastered)
  • Yakuza 5 (Remastered)
  • Yakuza 6: The Song of Life
  • Judgment
  • Lost Judgment
  • Like a Dragon Gaiden

I’ve beaten all of these, but I still need to finish up Lost Judgment and play Infinite Wealth. The Like a Dragon series shift to turn-based combat was a bold move, but I actually enjoyed it more than I expected. Still, nothing beats the classic Yakuza combat for me.

This series just keeps getting better, and I can’t wait to dive into Infinite Wealth and see where the story goes from here.

I really need to finish it. So when I get done with the last of Watch Dogs 2, and the 3rd one, then I’ll be going back to both Yakuza and Assassin’s creed, and wrapping up both of those series. Looking forward to every second of what Infinite Wealth is going to offer.
